Over to California.
To help a high school friend celebrate the Big 5-0.
A few days before the trip I hooked up with a couple of AZ friends for some liquid refreshment, i.e. margaritas.
The conversation turned to my upcoming trip. It went something like this.....
"So, you're flying?"
"No, I'm going to be driving."
"You're driving???????"
"Yep."
"Alone."
"Yep."
"So you feel okay about driving alone???"
At this point I felt it necessary (although I don't know why) to justify my decision....
"I've done it many times before, in fact, I drove across the country with a two year old."
I bring up this conversation because I find it funny that we, as humans, seem to want to attach all our own likes, dislikes, fears, etc. to others as though every one of us thinks exactly the same way.
In my case, it would be chocolate.
I just don't understand how anyone does not like chocolate.
Wonderful, luscious chocolate....ummmmm.
Okay I'm getting way off point.
Anyways, I'm not a person who is bothered by solo road trips.
In fact, I like them.
Not that my husband is a bother to travel with but sometimes
I just like being alone with my own thoughts.
With no distractions around like the computer, tv, housework......
I like singing to the top of my lungs as I'm driving without worrying about offending anyone.
I like stopping to use the loo whenever the need arises.
I like stopping to get a yogurt (without having to beg).
I like stopping at the outlet mall.
And I like stopping at places like this.
Yes...I doubt my husband would have been up for this place.
Sometimes I just like being alone.
And by the end of the six hour drive, I was ready to join society again.
If society would have me ;-)
Happy Tuesday to Everyone!
